Joyce Manor teams up with Best Friends Animal Society in Los Angeles for new video/pet adoption

Southern California pop-punk band Joyce Manor released a new music video for “Did You Ever Know?”, a song from the band’s recent album 40 oz in Fresno.

The clip, which was shared on Wednesday, is a collaboration with Best Friends Animal Society, a leading animal welfare organization working to end the killing of dogs and cats in US shelters by 2025.

For this video, the group toured Best Friends facilities, getting up close and personal with dogs, cats (and kittens!) available for adoption. At the heart of the video’s message and Joyce Manor’s collaboration with Best Friends is the harsh reality that in too many cases, adoptable pets are being put down due to shelter overcrowding and other factors.

Fortunately, places like Best Friends exist to try and turn the tide in the right direction.

Joyce Manor bassist Matt Ebert described his personal connection to Best Friends:

“Adopting my dog Violet from Best Friends in 2015 was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, and it has completely changed my life for the better. I’ve wanted to work with the rescue for years, and they had kindness for showing us around their facilities and updating us on everything that goes into their goal of making every shelter across the country a kill-free shelter by 2025. I hope anyone considering a new pet takes the time to consider the main advantages of saving his own!”

And some additional information about Best Friends:

Founded in 1984, Best Friends is a pioneer in the no kill movement and has helped reduce the number of animals killed in shelters from approximately 17 million per year to approximately 355,000. Best Friends runs rescue programs across the country, as well as the largest no-kill animal sanctuary in the country. Working in conjunction with a network of over 3,800 animal welfare and shelter partners, and community members nationwide, Best Friends works to Save Them All®.
